Botox Cosmetic injections are an effective
treatment for deep frown lines between the eyes, expression lines on the
forehead, and crow’s feet around the eyes.
The lines that appear between your brows (glabellar
lines) actually result from muscle movement and the passage of time.
You may have heard the expression “wearing your emotions on your sleeve”
but in reality you wear them on your face. Underneath your skin, your
facial muscles contract, causing a pleating of the overlaying skin, and
then, as anyone can see, your frowning. After years of crinkling and
wrinkling, those glabellar lines start to linger longer and can become
more pronounced and permanent. Fortunately, there is a way to
temporarily reduce moderate to severe glabellar lines. Treatment with
Botox Cosmetic can visibly smooth and soften those lines.
USES- Treatment of moderate to severe
deep frown lines between the eyes, expression lines on the forehead and
crow’s feet around the eyes.
SAFETY- The use of Botox Cosmetic is very
safe; however, it is not advised for women who are pregnant or for
people who have neurological conditions. The procedure is also not
recommended for wrinkles caused by aging or sun damage, which are
unrelated to muscle contraction. For these wrinkles we recommend
chemical peeling, microdermabrasion and or Restylane dermal filler.
TREATMENT PROCEDURE- A tiny amount of
Botox Cosmetic is injected, very precisely into the muscles being
treated. The treatments are not considered painful and the use of
topical anesthesia is usually not necessary. With such small amounts of
solution used for wrinkle therapy, the most common side effects are
temporary, and localized to the area of the injection.
POST TREATMENT- Normal activities can be
resumed immediately following the injection. You may experience some
minor discomfort, swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site.
Results become fully evident within five to seven days of the
treatment. Initial injections last approximately three to six months.
RESULTS- In clinical trials nearly 90% of men and women
surveyed rated the improvement in the appearance of frown lines between
their brows as moderate or better 1 month after treatment. The American
Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery rated Botox Cosmetic as the most
popular physician-administered aesthetic procedure in the U.S. for the
fourth year in a row.
